2020 Quilt Roundup
I thought I would post some pictures of the quilts I actually finished in 2020. Most of my time was spent on the Sugaridoo QAL quilt top, which was a lot of fun.

This is a small quilt made with a charm pack and a heap of half square triangles. I tried a few new techniques when quilting - the batting is pieced, the quilting is a combo of walking foot and ruler work, and the binding has faux piping.

This year I plan to finish the Sugaridoo QAL. All of the rows are done and I just bought two meters of a grey polkadot wideback. I plan to quilt the thing four rows at a time, and join the sections into one prior to binding.
I might even consider starting to quilt the blue and orange block-of-the-week I did a few years ago. I have the top and a pieced back, so I should really get it ready for quilting. It is so huge and heavy I will give Marti Michell's low fat quilting a go. But first I need to figure out how I am going to quilt it.
I have also been thinking about what to do with some of the precuts I have, and much of the recent holidays have been spent googling patterns and watching youtube videos. So far the plan is:
- a lone star pattern from Jordan Fabrics from a Marblehead jelly roll
- a modern blue X pattern from Angela Walters with some fat quarters instead of the jelly rolls the pattern calls for
- and a fun looking pattern using a charm pack
I also started a quilt I am making out of leaders and enders, a concept I was unaware of before reading Bonnie K Hunter's blogs. But as that only gets done as other quilt tops are created, that will be done when it is done.
Okay, so I probably won't get through all that in 2021. But you never know. :)
