Aves 2018 - Week 18
This year I thought I would take on a quilting challenge, so I signed up for Aves, a Block of the Week quilt by Kathryn Kerr of Green Avenue Quilts.
Every Sunday starting 21 January 2018, I receive the instructions to complete one block for the quilt. The plan is to complete the current block before the next one is released.
Week 18
I was excited when I saw this block. It involved more foundation piecing, which I am enjoying. I started cutting out the fabric, but soon realised that there was some confusion in the instructions. I couldn't start straight away as I had some printing to do, and I figured there would be an update sent soon enough - that's how it's gone so far.
But no update came. I deciphered what should probably be done, but thought I'd wait anyway. However, by the end of the week there was still no update. I was a bit annoyed. Anyway, Saturday I finally got started sewing, and on Sunday the block was complete.
It is an interesting design. The last couple of seams I put in aren't awesome, but I couldn't be bothered redoing them. It'll do.

Being Sunday, I've already seen the next block. I can't get started as I need to print the templates to cut the pieces. Probably a good thing I can't start though - the block is all curves and applique, not my favourite.
