Aves 2018 - Week 13

This year I thought I would take on a quilting challenge, so I signed up for Aves, a Block of the Week quilt by Kathryn Kerr of Green Avenue Quilts.

Every Sunday starting 21 January 2018, I receive the instructions to complete one block for the quilt. The plan is to complete the current block before the next one is released.

Week 13
Another ring of triangles this week.  I think I can do this block in my sleep now.  I took my time just doing a few seams every evening, as there is no longer any thinking required for this one.  It was nice to do a ring in blue, seeing as the circle block that will go in the middle is very orange.

The six sections were together by Thursday, and on Friday I joined them together, trimmed everything up and removed the foundation papers from behind.

All I had to do on Saturday was a single seam, though admittedly a tricky one.  What was I going to do with the rest of the day?

The block doesn't sit quite as flat as I'd like, due to the huge number of seams behind it.  I am sure that will sort itself out when I get around to quilting the thing.  Whenever that is.
